Game theory question on pricing

11. Coca-Cola and Pepsi Co are the leading competitors in the market for cola products. In 1960 Coca Cola introduced Sprite, which today is the worldwide leader in the lemon-lime soft drink market and ranks 4th among all soft drinks worldwide. Gordon-Poker

These are two questions that I cannot seem to figure out by looking at the text. I'm not sure how to handle the probability involving compound variables (i.e. 5 cards selected out of 52, and 3 of four kings, and 2 of four queens). I am also not sure how to figure probabilities with "at least" and "at most" terminology. They are part of an assignment, but I am just looking for someone to help me through this learning process. My 42 year-old brain is rusty.

It might be helpful to think of a smaller case: 2 choices from among 3 varieties. Following this method, we could count 3 2/2! ways. But if you write down all 9 permutations … 2. how many positive integers less than 1,000 are a) divisible by 7, b) are divisible by both 7 and 11 c) have distinct digits 3. how many bit strings of length 10 contain eithe... click for more

Subject: A Decision Tree Details: An electric power trading company has an option to buy 1,000,000 terawatts of electricity from a producer for $10 per terawatt. Other electric power trading companies have received this option and the company knows a decision must be made quickly. The company estimates it can sell the electricity for $14 per terawatt if it the deal goes through but the government may not approve, in which case the contract would be annulled and penalty of $1.50 per terawatt assessed. The company estimates that the possibility of government approval is 50-50. The $4 million would be a good profit but the 1.5 million loss if the contract is annulled would be serious. The com... click for more
