What I would like you to do is to remember back to your teen years. I want to know the different teenage subcultures that were in your community or at you high school. I then want you to answer the following questions. 1) What were the different types of groups and social backgrounds (e.g. class, race/ethnicity, and gender) of the people who belonged to them? 2) What types of delinquent activities did the members engage in? 3) Would you consider these groups to be "gangs"?

What I would like you to do this week is look for and discuss images from the media that desensitize us to the sexual use of girls and normalize and or eroticize violence. The media could be advertisements, magazines, song lyrics, music videos, comic books, video games, television, and movies. You do not have to mention the product or movie, just describe the way that they used the exploitation. Also, keep in mind the advertising that "pushes the envelope" when they have young teens "modeling cloths" or lack of them. This seems to be an issue nation wide. Do you think that this may impact a teens thinking with regards to sexual behavior?
