I was wondering if Christians think that Heaven is for Christians only? Are there different views of salvation proposed in Christianity? What will happen to those that are not Christians and/or without the gospel?

celebacy and asceticism

I am given a week to write a paper(4~5 page) on celebacy and asceticism-everything from monastic orders to fasting. Having no background on the topic, I do not know which book or articles to choose to read. So I would appreciate it if you could give me a list of several( so that I find one or two at least in my area) books or articles that are 'essential' to my topic and are also fairly short(given the short deadline).
