A detailed description of a Hypercolumn in V1

The problem I have to answer is: give a complete description of the input, organization, functional attributes, and output of a "hypercolumn" in V1. (in anatomical and electrophysiological terms). My problem? My book does not use the word "Hypercolumn", therefore all I have to go on are some sketchy notes from class, and I'm having trouble fitting it all together.
