Relationship between bilingualism, cognitive development and learning

Children who are bilingual present challenges to parents, teachers, and others that may be working with the child. This is especially apparent when a bilingual child reaches school-age and is faced with learning in a classroom setting. This document attempts to provide the reader with a brief understanding of past and present research on bilingual children.
