What is good statistical method commonly used in a psychology research paper that allows for comparison between two groups? In my study 15 women and 15 men are rating 10 pictures on a range of (1 -5). 5 (no color alterations) of the pictures are used to develop a baseline difference between men and women. 5 of the items have certain colors added to invoke emotion. In these five items I want to see the difference in men vs women. So I need a common psychology stat method to compare these 5 items (color added) that uses the data from the other 5 items (no color added) to equalize the difference in men vs women. What stat method would be best ? Thank You
