Derivation of standard deviation of binomial distribution and the Gaussian limit

In this problem we extract the large N limit of the binomial distribution with p = 1/2 and then for general p. We derive the formulas for the mean and the standard deviation for the binomial distribution. In the attachment this problem is formulated in terms of noninteracting particles.
