Finite Square Well Within An Infinite Square Well


For some reason I cannot end up with the expression in part A. If someone could go through this problem I would appreciate it.

PS. The professor did not respond to my question whether there was a typo in the equation in part A.  Since I cannot end up with the equation in part A and since it was suggested that the equation is wrong no matter what I will have to assume that the solution is different.
