Resistance

Determine first the one equivalent resistance Req that can replace the array of resistors in the circuit shown. Then determine the voltage across each resistor and the current throught each resistor. What is the total power drawn from the battery? (See attachment)

Resistivity

Please see the attached file for full problem description. --- A. Electrical resistivity of metals Using an ammeter/voltmeter method determine the electrical resistivity of the given alloy and hence identify the alloy. Write up your experiment as a laboratory report. Include an estimate of the uncertainty in your readings: one example per quantity measured will suffice. My readings are :- wire at 100cm wire at 75cm wire at 50cm voltmeter (v) ampmeter (i) v/i ampmeter (i) v/i ampmeter (i) v/i 1 0.05 20 0.08 12.5 0.11 9 1.25 0.07 17.8 0.09 13.89 0.14 8.9 1.5 0.08 18.7 0.12 12.5 0.17 8.8 1.75 0.09 19.4 0.13 13.46 0.2 8.75 2 0.11 18 0.15 13.35 0.24 8.33 2.25 0.12 18.75 0.1... click for more

Why and how does charge flow from one capacitor to another capacitor when the two are connected to each other by a conducting wire ?

I am not being able to understand that why and how does negative charge flow from a capacitor having lower potential difference between its plates to a capacitor having higher potential difference between its plates, when both are connected by a conducting wire. Also, why is the charge lost by one = charge gained by the other capacitor ? Please help me understand this with the help of a figure. Thanks.

measurement of physiology

A strap, instrumented to measure stretch, is worn around the chest to detect respiration whilst a subject is at-rest. The resulting signal is contaminated by electrical noise from the mains at 50 Hz with a similar amplitude to the respiration signal. Sketch what the contaminated signal might look like. The signal is then sampled into a computer. Explain what the resulting digitised signal will look like (using sketches if required) if it is sampled at 1. 50 Hz 2. 100Hz 3. 500 Hz What processing should be done on the computer to recover the respiration signal.
