Question: A wire carrying a current of 100 A due west in the southern hemisphere (Australia) is suspended between two towers 50 metres apart. The lines of force of the earth's magnetic field enter the ground there in a northerly direction at a 45 degree angle; the magnitude of the field is 5 mulitplied by 10 -5 T. I have asked this question twice before; the teacher says that theta in the workings out is 90 degrees and not 45 degrees so in that case could you provide me the workings out and answer for this.
