Questions 1-3-5-6.

These are mock exam questions and we have 15 minutes to complete each one, so a simple explanation of these solutions would be much appreciated. Could you also include any relevant comment along the way to help me understand your method and this subject better. Please find the questions in the attachment below. If any one of them is unclear, please let me know and I'll submit the question again. Hope you can help with this revision work and I look forward to your reply. (Can you also include Mohr's circle and sketches were required)

Continuum Mechanics- self teaching myself for my job and need verification of assumptions

I'm working on a problem in cylindrical coordinates. The conversions to material and spatial coordinates still hamper me. I need verification of my methodology in the following: a) I am unsure of how to derive the deformation fields. I know what the answer should be, but not sure where i am going wrong. See attached. Need to see how this cylinder is really deforming (as in a mental picture or description). b) what is the green strain tensor ? What is the small strain tensor? See attached for the boundary values and deformation equations.

mechanics of material(2)

i need help with this problem 2) One assumption we make for metals is that uniaxial stress-strain behavior is descriptive of multiaxial behavior. a) Why (be as thorough as you can) can we make that assumption? b) Please give an example (be as thorough as you can) of another material for which we could not make that assumption.
