Hi can you help me with sections 2,3 of a materials assignment? section 2 Define what is non destructive testing and illustrate some of it's usage. to support this detail three methods of non destructive testing and write a clear explanation of the process involved and where they might be used. section 3 choose one of the following areas and outline some of the properties which can be defined and how these apply to metals, polymers and ceramics. within the context of this section define examples of materials which exhibit good properties and which exhibit poor properties. -electric properties -magnetic properties -thermal properties -optical properties use a wide range as possible... click for more

1.An object of weight 20kn is supported from above by two cables inclined at 40 degrees and 70 degrees to the horizontal. Find graphically the tensions in the cables. 2. Find graphically the forces f1 and f2 in the jib crane. the first angle of the triangle are 60degrees, It is at that angle the 2kn force is pulling down on. force f1 is pointing left towards the 90 degree angle. Force f2 is pointing upwards away from the 30 degree angle this is at bottom of triangle.

solve graphically static force systems
An object of weight 20kn is supported from above by two cables inclined at 40 degrees and 70 degrees to the horizontal. Find graphicalyy the tensions in the cables 2. find graphically forces f1 and f2 in jib crane. triangle is standing up with 90 degree angle next to wall on top with f1 pointing towards it. 60 degree angle is opposite to 90 angle.with 2kn weight hanging from it. 30 degree angle is at bottom of triangle with f2 pointing towards the 60 degree angle.

I am having some problems with some Strength of Materials problems. Attached you will find the problems. please review and let me know if this is something that you can help me with. UPDATE: the PDF files are a bit difficult to read, so a copy of the two questions is included below: NOTE: Posting moved from "Materials Engineering" to "Physics" so that a new group of Online TAs have a chance to view it. 1. A solid round steel shaft 3 and ½ inches in diameter transmits 100 HP at 200 RPM. Determine: a. Torsional stress in the outer fibers b. Angle of twist per foot of shaft c. Increase in stress at the outer fibers if the shaft is made hollow with a 1 ½ inch bore. d. Stress... click for more
