There are two steps in developing any MPS. Step 1: Calculate Projected On Hand Inventory (referred as “Available” in this problem table 1.) Available to Promise is the difference between the customer orders already booked and the quantity that operations is planning to produce. The procedure for calculation ATP is slightly different for the first week of the schedule than other weeks because it accounts for the inventory currently in stock.
