Given an ellipse, could you please explain AND show on a piece of paper exactly why the distance between the origin and vertex equals a? Please don't just show me how to derive the equation for an ellipse. I have that. And please don't just draw a picture without explaining it. Thanks!
Can the method attached be adapted for an an ellipse rotated and not centered at the origin? Please explain.
Given the ellipse x2/4 + y2/9 = 1 What are the points where the tangent line is vertical? (In narrative, the problem reads: given the ellipse x squared divided by 4, plus y squared divided by 9, equals 1, what are the points where the tangent line is vertical?
