Mechanism of action of Sodium Dichromate upon ingestion

I am having a great deal of difficulty summerizing the mechansim of action of sodium dichromate upon human ingestion.  I would greatly appreciate help with this topic.  

Also what does the interaction of copper sulfate with sodium dichromate do in a water situation?  Does it change Cr (VI) to Cr (III)?
