To analyze dissolved oxygen content in different water samples.
Water, of all the natural substances, comes closest to being the universal chemical solvent. This remarkable property makes it one of the most important components of all living organisms. Oxygen forms one of the abiotic factors governing the physiological and ecological operations of both plants and animals. It is the aerobic respiration that has been preferred by the living organisms as against anaerobic perhaps to oxidize the calorific compounds and mobilize energy. Thus oxygen becomes an indispensable factor for bodily metabolisms. Oxygen gets diffused in aquatic bodies from the atmosphere while the strength of oxygen in the system is enriched by the photosynthetic activities of phytopla... click for more

Biochemical oxygen demand is a measure of the potential damage that can be done to the dissolved oxygen content of a body of water by organic waste. A BOD is the amount of O2 required to degrade or decompose the wastes. Its name comes from the "demand" that organic carbon makes for O2 through biochemical (enzyme) oxidation. BOD - demanded oxygen - can be likened to a debt that must be paid. Dissolved oxygen (DO) can be thought of as the currency used to pay the debt. If DO (assets) exceeds BOD (debt), aerobic conditions (economic solvency) will prevail. If BOD exceeds DO, bankruptcy may ensue. Bankruptcy, in this case, is the depletion of water's chief asset, O2. Over a period of time, th... click for more

The emission of geenhouse gases and there part of the invisible elbow of market forces
The question is how can emission of greenhouse gases be seen as part of the invisible elbow of market forces? Can someone tell me what is the invisible elbow. How are emission of greenhouse gases a part of this.

Should ferrets be allowed in continuing care facilities?
I have a short assignment and am having fun researching. However, I always like to be a little different and was hoping a T.A might have new insight into the question. Thus far... those little ferrets are dirty little buggers. "Write a letter responding to a request from the Big Town Ferrets Association that has requested the Regional Health Authority to permit ferrets to take part in continuing care facilities pet therapy programs." I have to answer these questions. 1.You have to make a decision based on facts and research (you own opinion is not good enough); i.e., you need to provide references- can't use ".com" webpages 2.also refer to available "guidelines" for this purpos... click for more
