My answer: Yes, in my opinion it might be quite true that prevention of deadlocks could be more CPU intensive than just letting them occur. Priority setting when a deadlock occurs is how issues are treated today. CPU time and memory might be limited in cases where a mechanism to prevent any deadlocks is attempted to be initiated. Deadlocks can be difficult to solve, but the occurrence of deadlocks is inevitable in any multi-tasking, multi-user operating system, and developing and/or initiating a system to prevent the occurrence might be too complicated for CPU's with current leve... click for more
