What is the difference between fault tolerance and disaster recovery? How does a network administrator decide which backup method to implement?

Backup plan and solutions

1) How can a project manager be sure that he or she has chosen the correct metrics to assess project performance? Give at least three examples 2) Research a vendor that offers backup and/or disaster recovery solutions. Write a brief summary of their solution. 3) Plan a high level backup and disaster recovery plan for a business. Discuss the security of the network and suggest best practices for securing the business network. Include a minimum of two references.

OSI Model

Research the OSI Model (7 layers). List and describe each layer of the OSI model. What is the purpose of the OSI model. Research the TCP/IP Architecture (4 layers). List and describe each layer. *Look in the RFCs. (Request for Comments) Describe and explain the similarities and differences between the OSI model and the TCP/IP Architecture. How do the TCP/IP layers map to the OSI layers? Provide a diagram.

communication recovery plan

Consider a natural or man-made disaster, and discuss how a communications network could be recovered from such a disaster. Refer to communication issues experienced during and after the tsunami in December of 2004 or similar issues experienced in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in August of 2005. Provide at least one resource to support your answer.

Project Management

You are in the implementation phase of a project and your customer indicates they need a specific change to the project that changes the scope of the deliverables. How would you handle this request and why? As a project manager, you are asked to facilitate a lessons learned session as part of the project termination process. How would you facilitate any session and what are some guidelines you would use? How would you incorporate and document information into future project plans and tools?
