Operations Management help with setting up formulas and decision trees

I would like to have someone explain to me how to set up formulas and solve my first problem. With my second problem I need to understand how to evaluate the data given and construct a decision tree accordingly. Here's the problem I need to understand how to construct the formula to solve. Based on the exchanges between Andy and Tom two managers for the same firm show two different negotiation scenarios. What are the negotiation elements that are being demonstrated and the affect they are having on the negotiation. The attached is a simplified version of the problem at hand.
