Goldman equation

The question asks: Calc. the membrane potential from Goldman equation using pNa/pK = 0.02 & the conc. of Na & K inside & outside the cell. Calc. the membrane potential using pNa/pK = 20. Compare these calculated values of membrane potential with the numbers from the simulation. Why does the membrane potential shift when pNa/pK moves from 0.02 to 20? Use [Na]i =12, [Na]o = 120, [K]i = 125, [K]o = 5. ==> I already calculated using the Goldman equation. I got -71.25 mV for pNa/pK = 0.02 and 47.49 mV for pNa/pK = 20. I said as the permeability ratio of Na and K increases, the potential is more positive. (Is it right?) Then I don't know how to explain the "why" question. Is it relat... click for more

cells outer membrane

how can I arrgue this question with my teacher? Which of these should make up the smallest proportion of a cell's outer membrane? triglyceride cholesterol protein phospholipids i answerd cholesterol b/c i didnt think there were triglycerides in the membrane. i know that a phospolipid has two fatty acid tails but that is still not a triglyceride. a triglyceride is three fatty acids and a glcerol. can some one help me explaine why the answer could have been cholesterol as well.
